Philosophy & Vision

At Ponder School for the Exceptionally Curious, our philosophy is rooted in the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. We have created a school in the image of the child — a place where children are encouraged to explore their environment and express themselves through all their natural languages: words, music, movement, drawing, painting, building, sculpting, shadow, and dramatic play.

Here at Ponder, children are considered skillful listeners, active participants, and meaning makers. They are researchers and explorers, encouraged to discover and learn in their own unique ways.

Our Curriculum

at ponder school for the exceptionally curious, we have high expectations for our students, as we have already deemed them quite capable. our curriculum stems from the reggio emilia philosophy, is child led, play-based and emergent - meaning that learning is driven by the interests, questions, and discoveries of the child themselves

play-based learnings

We start by creating a stimulating environment where children can explore new concepts through hands-on activities, storytelling, and sensory play. This stage fosters curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a love for learning.

steam exploration

Once the children are engaged, we present structured lessons that include early literacy, numeracy and social-emotional learning. Our teachers use interactive methods such as discussions and creative exercises.

Hands on & collaborative

Learning comes alive when children apply their knowledge through play, projects and collaborative activities. Whether it's doing science experiments, building with blocks or creating art.

arts & storytelling

We encourage children to reflect on their learning experiences by expressing their thoughts, sharing ideas and participating in discussions. This final stage stimulates critical thinking, emotional intelligence and a growth mindset.

ELIGABILITY

1. At least 3 years of age by sept 1st of the year that they enter school

II. fully pottied trained - able to recognize when they need to use the restroom :-)

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

To Enroll at Ponder, Families will have to complete the following steps after the get started forms:

1. schedule onsite meeting - Families are encouraged to tour our space, meet our educators, and learn about our philosophy

2. submit an application - A complete application along with additional questionnaire forms

3. Enrollment paperwork - upon acceptance, families must complete all required forms, including health and emergency contact information

4. tuition & fees - A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required at time of enrollment and will be credited towards first month's tuition

5. orientation - before the child's first day, families will receive a welcome packet and be invited to an orientation event to ease the transition
